New for the 2016-2017 school year.
There will be a four-minute passing time between classes.
Assessments shall count for a minimum of 80% of a student’s grade and homework shall count for a maximum of 20% of a student’s grade.
Students must have a 2.0 average in their classes in order to be allowed to go on an educational field trip.
Assignments made while a student is serving in-school-suspension shall be made up for full
credit.
Assignments made while a student is serving out of school suspension shall be made up for fifty (50%) percent credit.
To better prepare our students for college, students will take semester exams this year. Only students with percent attendance may be exempt from semester tests.
Students who have 3 or fewer absences will be eligible for a drawing at the end of each semester for an iPad.
We will be issuing chromebooks to all HHS this fall. Students may connect to our wi-fi which is filtered by the state. We are using more and more technology in our classrooms.
We have purchased combination locks for all school lockers this year. We did this to ensure students would have a safe and secure place to keep their textbooks and technology devices.
Students must be enrolled in the (AP) class for the entire year in order for the state
to pay for their exam and to receive the weighted credit.
Students riding a pep-bus must have a 2.0 average in their classes and cannot have been assigned ISS or OSS during the school year.
Teachers responsible for morning duty will be at their assigned areas from 7:40 until
8:00. Teachers responsible for afternoon duty will be at their assigned areas from 3:15 until 3:35. The morning tardy bell rings at 8:00 a.m. We will have GOBTIME for 30 minutes every day between 1st and 2nd periods. Class periods will be 49 minutes.
Staff members have been assigned supervisory duties on a rotating basis, and will be on duty from 7:40 a.m. until 8:00 a.m. each morning and from 3:15 pm. until 3:35 pm. each afternoon, as well as during each lunch time.
Detention will be on Monday- Thursday afternoons from 3:20 to 3:50 and on Tuesday and Thursday mornings from 7:30 to 8:00.

Possession and use of any electronic device, whether district or student owned, that interferes with a positive, orderly classroom environment does not respect the rights of others and is expressly forbidden.
Before and after normal school hours, possession of electronic devices is permitted on the school campus. The use of such devices at school sponsored functions outside the regular school day is permitted to the extent and within the limitations allowed by the event or activity the student is attending.
Students are not permitted to loiter in parking areas and are not to return to their vehicles
during the school day for any reason unless given permission to do so by school
personnel.
All schools in the District shall operate closed campuses. Students are required to stay on campus from their arrival until dismissal at the end of the regular school day, unless given permission to leave the campus by a school official. Students must sign out in the office upon their departure.
Inappropriate public displays of affection; Public displays of affection in the halls or in and around the school are forbidden. This includes holding hands, kissing, putting your arms around each other and other similar acts. The school area is an inappropriate place for open displays of affection. All members of the faculty will assist in eliminating this problem.
